Head of Alamein City Authority Receives BA Director

Dr. Mohamed Khalafallah, Head of the New Alamein City Authority and Supervisor of the Tourist Villages Authority, welcomed Dr. Ahmed Zayed, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, to discuss ways to enhance joint cooperation and study the establishment of a branch of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina in New Alamein, which would serve as a geographical extension of the Library and a center for cultural and intellectual enrichment, through which the Library would provide its cultural and knowledge services to the residents and visitors of the resort city.
The meeting was attended by a group of senior officials from the Alamein City Authority and the Bibliotheca Alexandrina.
During the meeting, the Head of the Authority explained that the study to establish a branch of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina in New Alamein is an important step towards supporting the city's cultural scene, disseminating culture, and encouraging citizens to read and learn through traditional or technological means.
For his part, Dr. Ahmed Zayed and the accompanying delegation expressed their deep admiration for the unprecedented urban and cultural development that New Alamein has recently witnessed, noting that the city has become an advanced model of comprehensive development and that the establishment of a branch of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina there will be an advanced cultural model with greater and more modern capabilities to serve the city's residents and visitors and support scientific research and cultural creativity.
At the end of the meeting, commemorative shields were exchanged, with Dr. Mohamed Khalafallah presenting the New Alamein City Authority Shield to Dr. Ahmed Zayed, while the Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina presented a model of the Library and a copy of The Photographic Memory of Alexandria booklet as an expression of mutual appreciation and an affirmation of the importance of future cooperation between the two sides in the cultural, scientific, and intellectual fields.
