The BA Women Studies and Social Transformation Program announces a decoupage workshop as part of the “Secrets of Craftsmanship” initiative, which will take place from 5 to 16 October 2025, in collaboration with Hayah Karima Foundation, under the umbrella of the National Alliance for Civil Development Work, and sponsored by Amazon Egypt. It is held in cooperation with the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Development Agency (MSMEDA).

The Hayah Karima Foundation launched the “Secrets of Craftsmanship” initiative in 2024, whereby several craft and art workshops on heritage products have been held. The initiative aims to support economic empowerment and enhance the role of small projects and handicrafts in community development and the creation of new job opportunities.

The first phase of the program includes specialized training in entrepreneurship to develop participants' skills in setting up projects and supporting small business owners and entrepreneurs in turning their ideas into a sustainable source of income through the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency. In the second phase, a specialized training workshop on the art of decoupage will be delivered to qualify participants to produce distinctive handicraft products that support the local economy and contribute to the preservation of traditional crafts.

Applicants must be Egyptian nationals, aged 20 to 50, with a passion for learning traditional handicrafts and a desire to turn that passion into a profitable business venture. Training sessions will be held in the morning, and participants must commit to attending the entire program (the training course is fully funded).
